Still a bit short on words

I apologize for not having that many updates on this blog, but I can tell you what is coming up for me and try to post some short blogs until I recover from my dissertation writing sessions.

I leave for California right before Christmas. The wife and I are very happy, as we have not seen my parents for a while now. Also, connecting with the family outside the parents (e.g. Friends who are more like family) is paramount in cleansing of the soul.

We are putting the final touches on the wedding when we are out there. Can't wait for that...more registry hunting.

Taking time to regenerate. It just seems absolutely necessary as the weather in Iowa is -27 with wind chill. I can't take it and need to be able to put on some shorts and not feel like I can never get warm again.

Catching up with some other research that I was not able to finish.

I will try to post interesting links or articles that I find. I will also give a few updates while in California. I have not been back since Prop 8 met its demise, so I want to figure out the vibe out there around Prop 8. I will keep you posted.

Hope all is well and that people are surviving the winter weather. I now have to get back to forming the syllabus for Intro to Lesbian Studies in the Spring Semester.

Out to 7 lunches, 15 meetings, and a small vacation on an island in the Caribbean

Dear friends,

I am currently in the middle of trying to finish the proposal (first three chapters) for my dissertation and am quite exhausted. I am not only writing for this site, but am also on Grace the Spot, so pulling double-duty is not working out too well. I tell you all this because I need to apologize for the lack of updates on this site. They will be minimal, if not absent.

I will not be able to get back here until the 10th of December. I might be able to give you some links to news or other articles on websites I enjoy, but I will not be posting anything new and exciting from my brain until I have thoroughly exhausted it, taken it on vacation, and let it sit for hours in front of the tv. It gets very cranky when it can't do that.

I apologize ahead of time, but I encourage you to check me out soon. Don't give up on me quite yet.
